U.S. State Bar Associations – Divorce Resources

In the U.S. divorce, child custody and child support laws vary greatly from state to state. This can be very confusing, particularly if the divorcing spouses are not living in the same state.

While not exhaustive, many State Bar Associations provide free information on divorce and child custody issues.

The range of information varies from state to state but is reliable and impartial, and includes advice on topics such as choosing a divorce lawyer, alimony and custody, parenting plans and difficult issues such as domestic violence. In many cases, it is available in Spanish as well as English.
